Contrary to popular myth, the State of California does not end at San Francisco or Sacramento; in fact, almost one-third of the state lies north of these cities. Trinity County, and its very laid-back lifestyle, are found in the coastal mountains of this third, west of Redding. We have four seasons of weather, pure air, abundant wildlife, good hunting and fishing, all trail sports and some Class V whitewater. With an area comparable to Orange County (CA) or Texas (if we were ironed flat), Trinity County has fewer than 14,000 residents. The county likes to boast that it has no traffic signals, no shopping mall and no smog. With only about twenty-five percent of the land in the county privately owned, you'd be living in a vast recreational area. We also have great real estate!
